Built using the JQuery Mobile framework and open source data, Triad’s Serving Hands was created to help combat the epidemic of food insecurity in the area. The idea for the application was conceived at Code for Greensboro’s inaugural Civicon Hackathon and Conference, November 6-8, 2015 in Greensboro, N.C.

The concept, design and presentation earned my team, Girl Code, second place honors, among a total of nine teams of developers, designers and technologists from the community. As team leader and front-end developer, I chose JQuery Mobile as an efficient and effective framework to display and demonstrate key components of the application’s functionality in the time that we had to complete the project, which was limited to the duration of the conference. After refining the purpose of the project, I led my team in determining what content and what functionality the project would focus on.
