Charlotte Hawkins Brown established the Palmer Memorial Institute for rural African American youth in 1902. The school’s curriculum emphasized agricultural and industrial education, and it was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Brown died in 1961. The final class graduated in 1971.
The goal of this video is to increase awareness about the museum, serve as a marketing tool for the museum to use in attracting potential visitors and, hopefully, result in increased visitation to the museum.
